Nam Ou River Basin Cascade Hydropower Project in Lao PDR

Project Highlight:After gaining entire Nam Ou River Basin development right, PCR started to develop 7 cascades hydropower stations with a total installed capacity of 1272MW, the annual generation of 5,064 GWh and total investment about USD 2.4 billion. The river basin is developed in two phases. The first phase includes No.2, No.5, and No.6 stations with a total installed capacity of 540MW, an annual generation capacity of 2,092 GWh and total investment of USD 1.035 billion. Construction of the first phase started in October 2012 and completed on October 30th, 2016. No.1, No.3, No.4, and No.7 stations belong to second phase with a total installed capacity of 732MW, an annual generation capacity of 2,874GWh and total investment about USD 1.7 billion.

Nam Ngum 5 Hydropower BOT Project in Lao PDR

Project Highlight:Nam Ngum 5 Hydropower Project, with a total installed capacity of 120MW and annual generation output of 507GWh, is the first BOT project developed by PCR in Lao PDR. PCR holds 85% shares. Construction started on October 1st, 2008,and COD was achieved on December 2nd, 2012.

Kamchay Hydroelectric BOT Project in Cambodia

Project Highlight:Kamchay Hydroelectric Project, with a total installed capacity of 194.1MW and an annual energy generation of 500 GWh, is developed in BOT mode.PCR holds 65% shares. Its construction began in September18th, 2007 and COD was achieved on August1st, 2012.

Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station in Nepal

Project Highlight:Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station, with a total installed capacity of 50MW and annual generation capacity of 317GWh, is developed by PCR on BOOT basis as a majority shareholder (90% shares). The construction began on August 1st, 2013 and the first unit started to generate electricity on September 24th, 2016. and COD was achieved on January 1st, 2017.

Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant in Pakistan

Project Highlight: Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant in Pakistan has a total installed capacity of 1,320 MW and an annual average generation capacity of 9,500 GWh. The construction period is about 40 months and the first unit started to generate electricity on November 10th, 2017, and COD was achieved on April 25th, 2018.

Bengkulu Coal-fired Power Plant in Indonesia

Project Highlight: Bengkulu Coal-fired Power Project in Indonesia composites the installation of 2x100 MW CFB coal-fired units, construction of 150 kV transmission lines, coal unloading terminal and related facilities. Itis a BOOT project invested by PCR. The project started construction in October 2016 and is expected to be put into operation on February 2020.

Barisal Coal-fired Power Plant in Bangladesh

Project Highlight: The Barisal Project is located in Barguna Region in south Bangladesh. With the installed capacity of 1x350MW, the Plant proposes to adopt supercritical unit and imported coals, with a new coal terminal built. The unit adopts limestone wet desulfurization process to ensure that the pollutant emission can satisfy the environmental protection standards of Bangladesh and the World Bank.With the total estimated investment of about USD 570 million and construction duration of 45 months, the Project is expected to be put into power generation in 2021. It has an annual power generation of about 2.275 billion kWh and the operational period of 25 years.The Project is the first IPP coal-fired power project invested by Chinese enterprise in Bangladesh. After being completed and put into operation, the Project will relieve the power shortage in Bangladesh.

Cattle Hill Wind Farm Project in Australia

Project Highlight: Cattle Hill Wind Farm Project is the first renewable energy investment project in Australia of POWERCHINA. It has been jointly developed by POWERCHINA Resources Ltd. (holding 80% shares) and Xinjiang Gold Wind Sci & Tech Co., Ltd. (holding 20% shares), with a total investment of approximately AUD 330 million.The project is located in the Central Highlands region of Tasmania, Australia, and consists of 48 wind turbines with a total nameplate capacity of 148.4 megawatt (MW). The project has commenced operation since early 2020.

Kyauk Phyu Gas-fired Combined Cycle Power Station in Myanmar

Project Highlight: Kyauk Phyu Gas-fired Combined Cycle Power Station Project is located in Kyauk Phyu Town, Rakhine State of Myanmar, with capacity of 135 MW, composed of two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine, occupying 15 acres land as site area. It is a BOT project invested by PCR, total investment about USD 173 million. The construction period is estimated to be 24 months, and the operation period is 25 years with an annual generation capacity around 1,000 GWh. The project entered commercial operation on May 19, 2023

Ivovik Wind Farm Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Project Phase: Under Construction 

Project Highlight:Ivovik Wind Farm Project is located in Canton 10 of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is designed to install 20 wind turbines, with total capacity of 84 MW. The total investment of the project is about 133 million Euros, with concession period of 30 years. Construction started in December 2021. It is the first energy project invested by Chinese company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is included in the list of cooperative fruit of the China - Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Summit in 2021.It is defined as a national significant project by the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Shelek Wind Farm Project in Kazakhstan

Project Highlight: Shelek Wind Farm Project is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. To install 24*2.5MW wind turbines, the project has a total installed capacity of 60MW, an annual average generation capacity of around 228 GWh and a total investment of about 102.66 million USD. The construction started on June 27th, 2019. As the first renewable energy project in Central Asia invested by the member enterprises of POWERCHINA as holding shareholders, it has been included in the List of Key Projects for China-Kazakhstan Industrial and Investment Cooperation.

Central Myanmar PV project

Project Phase: In Operation

Project Highlight: The Myanmar Solar Project is the first solar project invested by PCR. There are five sub-projects: Satoktayar solar project, Kyeeonkeewa solar project, Shwekyin solar, Sedawgyi solar project and Kindar solar project, with a total installed capacity of 160 MW and an annual energy generation of 342 million KWH. The project was developed in BOO mode, construction period of 360 days and a commercial operation period of 20 years.
