Nam Ou River Basin Cascade Hydropower Project achieved" Three successful power generations in one month"

At 9:58 a.m. local time on September 26, 2020, unit 4 of Nam OU 1HPP was successfully connected to the grid, marking the full installed power generation of the station.

 The Nam Ou River Basin Cascade Hydropower Project (the “Project”), implemented in two phases according to “One Reservoir with Seven Cascades”, has a total installed capacity of 1272 MW. Among these, the three cascades of first phase stations was completed and put into production in April 2016. At the same time, the four cascade power stations in the second phase of the project started construction simultaneously as well. Up to now, the installed capacity of the Project has reached 878 MW, with an accumulative output of 5700 GWh.

The completion of the station in 2020 will be of great significance to the local acceleration of tourism development, poverty alleviation and urbanization.
