The Unit2 of Nam Ou 3HPP is Connected to grid

At 09:56 a.m. Laos time on October 15, 2020, the unit 2 of Nam Ou 3HPP is successfully connected to the grid. This is the second generator of three units in the station, which will add new power for Laos, thus boosting the economic and social development nationally.

The Nam Ou River Basin Cascade Hydropower Project implemented in two phases according to “One Reservoir with Seven Cascades”, has a total installed capacity of 1272 MW. Among these, the three cascades of first phase stations was completed and put into production in April 2016, followed by the four cascade power stations in the second phase of the project starting construction.

Up to now, the installed capacity of the Project has reached 948 MW, with an accumulative output of 60 billion KWH.
