On April 2, 2021, the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Laos awarded the Lao National Labor Medal to Nam Ou River Basin Hydropower Company，and awarded certificates of honor to the 18 employees who have made important contributions to the company to recognition of the outstanding contributions made by the company to the social and economic development of Laos.
During the construction period, the project actively practices the economic and social responsibility sharing of the project area and fulfills the social responsibility. Eleven permanent resettlement villages have been established, supporting schools, markets, temples, health clinics, public toilets, garbage ponds, lighting, water supply and power supply facilities, resettling more than 5,000 migrants and providing more than 1,000 jobs, the localization ratio was over 31%.
Together with the Lao government and Chinese Embassy in Laos, the project has donated epidemic prevention materials to Luang Prabang Province and Electricite Du Laos, setting a good example for overseas Chinese enterprises.
